Situated at the southern end of the largest island - Vancouver, on the shore of the Strait of Juan de showing off.
Victoria is known as the "city of gardens,"(Butchart Gardens), see photo above, the crown jewel. You may be surprised to learn that this first-class botanical garden was established on the limestone quarry. The climate of the city is soft and warm, often described as Mediterranean. Winters are mild and wet and summers hot and dry.
The mild climate allows you to grow and such trees as eucalyptus, palms and even some types of banana trees. Municipal parks are filled with flowers year round. Victoria is known for its large number of adults. Here there are many British pensioners, because of the mild climate and typically British atmosphere in the city. Nearly 6.5 percent of the population is over age 80godishna.
The warm climate attracts another type of "settlers". There are many homeless, according to data from 2008 over 3000 people.
