Dispute the official height of Everest

Nepal and China have moved long dispute about the height ofMount Everest (Chomolungma), reported Reuters. As a result of these negotiations in Nepal, Kathmandu representatives of China agreed that the official height of Everest is set to 8848 meters above sea level. A Nepal, in turn, took the Chinese statement that the height of this giant rock is  8844 meters. The exact height of Mount Everest still remains controversial.

Since 1954, officially assumed that the height of the mountain is 8,848 m. However, the Chinese mountaineers and researchers in May 2005 concluded that the peak Chomolungma is 3.7 meters lower, ie, its height is 8844.43 m, with error 0, 21 meters.
