With more than 5 million visitors each year, the World Heritage in Arizona is home to several major ecosystems, from crossing the Colorado River approximately 750 miles.Navajo Bridge, above, is one of them.
The park found archaeological finds of 12,000 years, which testify to the resettlement of Indian tribes in these lands. The first recorded visit by European settlers was in 1540.Colorado River has incised into solid rock over millions of years until a Grand Canyon.
The park offers various types of entertainment and tours. There are steep paths experienced tourists can descend on foot to the bottom of the canyon. There are flies over the canyon by helicopters and small airplanes, and riding on a mule. The last major tourist attraction is the "Celestial Walk" opened on 28 March 2007. It represents a kind of balcony glass hanging off the edge of the canyon, where you can find amazing views.
There are campsites in both the upper canyon and down to its very foundation.The campsite at the base of the Grand Canyon, however, need special permission.
